Our Pastors

JP AND RACHEL TROGLIO

"The call for Oasis Church Chicago is to embody its name: to be a wellspring of life in the midst of a desert and bring life, hope, and the grace of Jesus to people all across this city. We stand on the promises of God and live in faith that God's kingdom will come to this city as it is in heaven.”

Oversight Pastors

Oasis Church Chicago believes in the power of accountability and oversight. When Pastor JP & Rachel Troglio heard the call from God to plant Oasis, they took the first steps in ensuring that they would be building with oversight and counsel. The Pastors below have been speaking into, advising, and praying for Oasis since its foundation. These five men help regulate the temperature of Oasis and speak into its past, present, and future. WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE BIBLE: OUR GUIDE

We believe the Bible to be the divine, infallible, and the authoritative Word of God. We believe it to be transcendent through all time and applicable to our lives today. It is our guide and the standard to which we live by as followers of Jesus. It is active and alive, and the revelation of God to man.

ONE GOD: THE TRINITY

We believe there is one eternal God – existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is complete and still alive today. He is creator of heaven and earth, mankind, and is the redeemer of all things. We believe it is only through Jesus, the Son of God, that we can be reconciled back to God’s original design for us before the original sin of mankind. It is through Jesus' death on a cross, burial and resurrection three days later, that we have salvation that gives us new and eternal life. He took our sin and placed it on the cross, that we may no longer be separated from God. He forgave us of all of our sins and is now sitting at the right hand of the Father.

FORGIVENESS AND RECONCILIAITON

We believe that to no longer be separated from God, we must believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. We then receive forgiveness through the repentance of our sins. We believe in baptism by water which is an outward sign of an inward action that a believer has died to sin and is alive in Christ. We take communion as a reminder of Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross for our sins.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit and that His work and gifts are alive and active today. The Holy Spirit is the promise that Jesus gave before ascending into heaven; a promise that we would receive the same power that raised Christ from the dead to be our helper and guide. The Holy Spirit imparts and enables the Church to use spiritual gifts that edify and grow the Church. We believe the Holy Spirit wants to transform, heal, and carry out the work of God's kingdom in this city- to share the message of Jesus.

THE CHURCH: A COMMUNITY

We believe in the necessity of the Church for all believers. We believe there is significance in community and the body of Christ regularly gathering together through worship, prayer, baptism and communion. We believe that the Church is not called to just gather on Sunday, but to journey through life together daily. We believe in serving the community around us and abroad through giving of our time, commitment and resources for the advancement of the Kingdom.

THE RETURN

We believe and expectantly wait for the great promise that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back to redeem his Church, and reign on the earth.
